Piece for Solo Euphonium
In 2011 I was commissioned by Aliza Simons to write a piece for solo Euphonium.
The work is comprised of several Euphonium fingerings being performed by creatures and objects which are not typically used to play the Euphonium. My intention is that the performer take the fingerings and play each one until it becomes boring, exhausting each possibility of interpretation.
This piece was also performed by Baxton Alexander and others in 2016 in a tribute to Erik Satie.
